Mayfield Village Mayor Appoints New Service Director
MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OH – Service Director Doug Metzung has announced his retirement effective April 17, 2021, after serving as the Village’s Director of Public Service for 25 years. Following advertisement for the position and a review of all candidates, Mayor Brenda Bodnar has appointed Service Department Foreman Scott Sipos to be his successor. Mr. Sipos will be formally sworn-in at the remote Council meeting on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Sipos began his career with Mayfield Village as a part-time Service Department employee in 1993. For many years he worked on the Road Crew, switching to the Lands & Buildings Crew and becoming a Foreman in 2012. Mr. Sipos is familiar with all aspects of the Service Department’s operation. Mayor Bodnar stated, “It was clear during his interview that Scott has much passion for and dedication to the Village. He presented a clear and comprehensive vision for the future of the Service Department and I am confident that his years of working there have prepared him for the challenge. I congratulate him on this promotion and I look forward to working with him to continue the great service we provide to the residents of Mayfield Village.”
Scott Sipos is a 1992 graduate of Mayfield High School and he resides in Mayfield Village with his wife Erin and their three children.
