AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE
CREATING CERTAIN POSITIONS
AND COMPENSATION RELATED THERETO
FOR THE VILLAGE’S 2014 SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Mayfield Village Parks and Recreation Board is in the process of establishing and preparing for the 2014 Summer Camp Program; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield will solely sponsor the Sports‘N More Camp; and
WHEREAS, Mayfield Village Parks and Recreation will receive twenty-five percent (25%) profit from the annual offering of Teen Adventure Camp jointly sponsored by Mayfield Village and Mayfield Heights Recreation; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Board to contract out for certain summer camp employees; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Village of Mayfield to authorize the “Sports ‘N More Camp” and to authorize those positions and salaries as hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Mayfield Village Parks and Recreation Board’s establishment of the “Sports ‘N More Camp” are hereby and herein authorized, and the positions for the operation of same are established as hereinafter set forth with the compensation for each position category indicated adjacent thereto for the 2014 Summer Camp Season:

Sports ‘N More:
Kevin Zalatel $4,200.00/season
Maureen O’Hanion $3,165.00/season
Office Manager $10/hr./season
Counselors $8.00 - $14.00 per hour
(Counselor in Training)
Lifeguards $7.95 – $15.00 per hour
SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
