MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL
Monday August 1, 2022
Immediately Preceding Caucus at 7:00 p.m.

The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session preceding Caucus on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Mayfield Village Reserve Hall.  Council President Schutt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL:

Present: Mr. Arndt, Mrs. Jurcisek, Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Meyers, Mr. Murphy, Mr. Schutt, and Mr. Williams

Also Present: Mayor Bodnar, Mr. Wynne, Ms. Calta, Mr. Cappello, Chief Carcioppolo, Chief Matias, Mr. Marquart, Mr. McAvinew, Mr. Russell, Mr. Sipos, Ms. Wolgamuth, and Mrs. Betsa

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Open Portion – For Public Comment (5-minute limit imposed by Chair)

There were no comments.

Old Business:

  • Second Reading of Ordinance No. 2022-17, entitled, “An Ordinance Amending Mayfield Village Codified Ordinance Section 351.03 Prohibited Standing or Parking Place, to prohibit parking along the Aintree Park Drive cul-de-sac and correct the spelling of Beech Hill Road.”  Introduced by Mayor Bodnar. (First reading, July 18, 2022).

Council President Schutt asked, are there any questions or comments regarding Ordinance No. 2022-17?

Ms. Wolgamuth asked, Council President?

Council President Schutt replied, yes.

Ms. Wolgamuth stated, I would just like to point out to Council that I sent two letters from resident George Hughes today.  There should be copies of those letters at your seats.  He sent letters opposing the Ordinance.

Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Ms. Wolgamuth.  Are there any other comments or questions?

There were none.

Council President Schutt stated Ordinance No. 2022-17 will be on Third Read at our Regular Council Meeting on August 15, 2022.

New Business:

  • First Reading of Resolution No. 2022-31, entitled, “An Emergency Resolution Authorizing Mayfield Village to accept the bid of A&J Cement Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $291,960.00 and enter into a contract for the Aintree Park Neighborhood Sidewalk Replacement Project.”  Introduced by Mayor Bodnar.

Mr. Murphy, seconded by Mrs. Jurcisek, made a motion to suspend Resolution No. 2022-31.

Nays: None

Motion Carried. Resolution Suspended.

Mr. Murphy, seconded by Mr. Meyers, made a motion to enact Resolution No. 2022-31.

Council President Schutt asked, any discussion?

There was none.

Motion Carried. Resolution Adopted.

Council President Schutt stated, Resolution No. 2022-31 is approved.

  • First Reading of Resolution No. 2022-32, entitled, “An Emergency Resolution Authorizing Mayfield Village to accept the bid of C.A. Agresta Construction Co. in the amount of $149,849.00 and enter into a contract for the Aintree Park Drive Median Removal and Garden Drive Pavement Improvement Project.”  Introduced by Mayor Bodnar.

Mr. Murphy, seconded by Mrs. Jurcisek, made a motion to suspend Resolution No. 2022-32.

Nays: None

Motion Carried. Resolution Suspended.

Mr. Murphy, seconded by Mr. Meyers, made a motion to enact Resolution No. 2022-32.

Motion Carried. Resolution Adopted.

Council President Schutt stated, Resolution No. 2022-32 is approved.
