MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL

Tuesday, September 2, 2014 - 8:00 p.m.

The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Mayfield Village Civic Hall.  Council President Buckholtz called the meeting to order at 8:25 p.m.

ROLL CALL: 

Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Marrie, Mrs. Mills, Dr. Parker, and Mr. Saponaro

Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Wynne, Mr. Diemert, Chief Edelman, Chief Carcioppolo, Mr. Metzung, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Cappello, Mr. DiNardo, Mr. Esborn, Ms. Wolgamuth, and Mrs. Betsa

Absent: Mr. Jerome and Mr. Marrelli

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

OPEN PORTION:

3-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state their name and address.  (The public is requested to limit their discussion to agenda items only).

There were no comments.

Motion to reject all bids submitted on July 18, 2014 for the Civic Center Stormwater Retrofit Demonstration Project.

Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to reject all bids submitted on July 18, 2014 for the Civic Center Stormwater Retrofit Demonstration Project.

Council President Buckholtz asked, any discussion?  There was none.

Motion Carried. Bids Rejected.

Motion to accept re-bid of August 29, 2014 from R.J. Platten Contracting Company and to authorize expenditure in the amount of $182,255.60 for the Civic Center Stormwater Retrofit Demonstration Project.

Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Saponaro, made a motion to accept re-bid of August 29, 2014 from R.J. Platten Contracting Company and to authorize expenditure in the amount of $182,255.60 for the Civic Center Stormwater Retrofit Demonstration Project.

Motion Carried. Re-bid Accepted. Expenditure Approved.

Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $13,361.00 to Lake Business Products for replacement copiers for Building, Finance and Police Departments.

Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Saponaro, made a motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $13,361.00 to Lake Business Products for replacement copiers for Building, Finance and Police Departments. 

Council President Buckholtz asked, any discussion?  There was none.

Motion Carried. Expenditure Approved.

Motion to authorize change order in the amount to original Drainage and Infrastructure Project from 2013 at 905 Beecher’s Brook in the amount of $325.00 to Anselmo Landscape and Design.

Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to authorize change order in the amount to original Drainage and Infrastructure Project from 2013 at 905 Beecher’s Brook in the amount of $325.00 to Anselmo Landscape and Design. 

Council President Buckholtz asked, the original expenditure was $1,100?  This is an additional $325?

Mr. Metzung replied, it was done in two phases.  It started last year.  He came back and did this front section.

Council President Buckholtz asked, any questions? There were none.

Motion Carried. Change Order Authorized. Expenditure Approved.

Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $15,913.01 to Mr. Excavator for clean-out of Wiley retention pond.

Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $15,913.01 to Mr. Excavator for clean-out of Wiley retention pond.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.  The next Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2014 at 8:00 p.m.
