Mr. Haycox introduced Judge Bozza and thanked her for attending the meeting. Mrs. Mills advised the Committee that the Village has engaged the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission to assist with preparation of a new Master Plan. Resident surveys are being prepared and will be mailed out soon. Judge Bozza commented that she had been on the 2020 Vision Committee and loved the experience. She said the Vision Committee had been a very cohesive group and worked well together. Mr. Haycox stated that he was also on the 2020 Vision Committee and enjoyed it very much. He added that it was wonderful to see that the Village had been able to implement the plan and most items have been accomplished.
Mrs. Mills reported that one of the important pieces of business that Council recently addressed was legislation to require Automated External Defibrillators at assembly locations in the Village exceeding 200 persons, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, schools and physical fitness facilities.
Mr. Haycox asked the Committee members to review The Grove schedule and choose a date for a summer meeting at The Grove. After discussion, the Committee chose The Jazz Festival on Saturday, August 19. Ms. Wolgamuth will find out if the Parkview Pool pavilion is available that evening for the meeting.
Mrs. Singer provided an update on the upcoming Memorial Day service at Whitehaven Cemetery. She advised that Mayor Bodnar will be speaking and Mr. Williams will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.
The Committee adjourned at 6:46 p.m. to attend the Town Hall Meeting on finances at 7:00 p.m.
