The Planning & Zoning Commission met in regular session on Mon, Oct 4, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Mayfield Village Civic Center, Civic Hall. Chairman Syracuse presided.
Roll Call
Present: Mr. Vetus Syracuse (Chairman), Dr. Sue McGrath (Chairman Pro Tem), Mr. Allen Meyers (Council Rep), Mr. Jim Kless, and Mr. Henry DeBaggis
Also Present: Mr. Anthony Coyne (Law Director), Mr. John Marquart (Economic Development Manager), Mr. Daniel Russell (Building Commissioner), and Ms. Deborah Garbo (Commission Secretary)
Absent: Mr. Paul Fikaris, Mayor Bodnar, Mr. Tom Cappello (Village Engineer), and Ms. Jennifer Jurcisek (Council Alternate)
Consideration of Meeting Minutes: Sept 7, 2021
Mr. Kless, seconded by Mr. Meyers made a motion to approve the Minutes of Sept 7, 2021.

OPEN PORTION:
Chairman Syracuse states, this is a regular meeting of the Mayfield Village Planning & Zoning Commission Mon, Oct 4th, 2021. We have two proposals before us tonight, we’ll take them in the order that are listed on our agenda.

We discussed this at the workshop meeting that was held last month, I think it’s pretty straight forward. Does anyone have any additional questions or comments or anything they want to add before we tale a vote?
There were no comments.
DECISION:
Mr. DeBaggis, seconded by Mr. Meyers made a motion to approve the Lot Split & Consolidation for Montebello Subdivision, Skoda Construction, Inc, sublot #29 & sublot #30 as proposed.

Beta Core Commercial District Overlay
Presented by Economic Development Dept.
(May 2022 Ballot)
Chairman Syracuse said, our second proposal before us tonight is the Beta Core Commercial District Overlay. We discussed this as well, I think I made my opinion clear on it that I was in favor of this. But just to refresh everyone’s memories and make sure we’re all on the same page, what we’re doing tonight is proposing a report and recommendation to Council whether or not we should recommend to Council to place this item on the ballot for the May 2022 ballot. It doesn’t mean that it’s going to be approved, it doesn’t mean Council can’t overrule it and it also doesn’t mean that the voters in Mayfield Village are going to approve it. It will go through a rigorous process with three public readings, there will be public comment on it and then eventually if it did make its way onto the ballot, it would be voted on by the residents of the Village. I don’t know if there’s anything else anyone wanted to add to this. Mr. Marquart, is there anything else you’d like to address or did we cover it all at the workshop?
Mr. Marquart said, Mr. Chairman I believe we covered everything. The only item I would note tonight was that I did correct the two typographical errors that were mentioned regarding side and rear yards and forwarded those to the Law Department so that we’re to ensure that they’re baked into the enabling legislation.
Chairman Syracuse said, thank you Mr. Marquart. Mr. Coyne, is there anything else you’d like to discuss?
Mr. Coyne replied, nothing other than the corrections were made.
DECISION:
Mr. Kless, seconded by Dr. McGrath made a motion to recommend that the Beta Core Commercial District Overlay being presented by the Economic Development Department be recommended and Council approve placing this on the May 2022 ballot.

Motion Carried. Recommendation to Counci.
Chairman Syracuse said, there’s nothing else on our agenda for tonight. Unless anyone has anything else they’d like to discuss, I’d entertain a motion to adjourn.
