Chairman Parker called the meeting to order beginning with the first item on the agenda, Mayfield High School Wildcat Health & Wellness Center.

Bob Orovets, Architect with ThenDesign Architecture introduced himself. This is actually being prompted by the Fire Dept. The Health & Wellness Center has put in a very small little area at the High School and the Fire Dept is requiring a sign. They got written up by the Fire Dept. I submitted a picture of the existing sign that’s there now. We’re going to do a smaller one next to it. Same materials, just a lot smaller. The existing sign has the LED in it, it’s almost 8’ tall. This new one will be 3’ 8” from the ground up. Same materials as the other sign, same colors, different address. The existing sign is face brick but the new sign is just going to have the split face at the base with a sandstone cap.

Mr. Marrelli asked, the new sign will be south of the existing sign?

Bob Orovets replied yes, it’s behind the existing sign.

Mr. Miozzi asked, where is this building at the School? Is there going to be another sign pointing people where to go?

Bob Orovets replied, no.

Mrs. Wervey replied, it’s back by the gym.

Bob Orovets said, it’s in the back where people go to work out. There are letters & numbers on the outside of the door.

Mr. Miozzi said, I was concerned once people pull in the driveway that they won’t know where to go.

Mr. Marrelli explains, it’s not for the public in general. It’s for Teacher’s and their families. It’s their Health Care Facility. It’s not like you’re driving down Wilson Mills and say; oh, let me run to the Clinic. It’s not open to the public. The Nurse’s station is run by the Cleveland Clinic.

Bob Orovets said, they don’t need a sign, they know where to go.

Mr. Marrelli states, it’s for Fire Dept response more than anything.

Mrs. Wervey commented, that’s a nice little benefit for Teacher’s.

DECISION:

Mr. Klein, seconded by Mr. Miozzi made a motion to approve the proposed Monument Sign for Mayfield Wildcat Health & Wellness Center @ 6098 Wilson Mills Rd. as proposed.

Monument Sign

Chairman Parker states, second item is signage for Smokin Q’s BBQ.

Ellen Benjamin with Signature Sign Co. introduced herself. It’s just face replacements.

Mr. Marrelli said, the setback is nonconforming. We widened SOM, it can’t be moved without a variance. Are there spotlights on this?

Ellen Benjamin replied, there’s fluorescents inside. I’m not changing the bulbs, just painting the posts.

Mr. Marrelli asked, is the Fisher’s sign lit now?

Ellen Benjamin replied, yes.

Mr. Marrelli commented, I didn’t know that. I’ve never seen that lit. I thought it was spotlights shining on the faces.
