Recycling
A recycling bin is provided to each residence. Recyclables are picked-up on the same day as the solid waste, by a separate truck.
The following items are recyclable:
- Aluminum cans
- Bi-metal cans
- Aersol cans
- #1 PETE plastic bottles
- #2 HDPE plastic bottles
- Clear, green, and brown glass jars & bottles
The following items are recyclable but must be bundled and tied or placed in a separate brown paper bag in or adjacent to the recycling bin:
- Newspaper
- Telephone books (Phonebooks may also be recycled at the Metroparks, click here for dates and locations)
- Catalogs
- Magazines
- Corrugated cardboard (boxes must be broken down)
Items that are not recyclable:
- Egg cartons
- Antifreeze & containers
- Motor oil and containers (motor oil and gasoline can be dropped off at the Service Department during business hours, year-round)
- Plastic and paper food containers
- Plastic bags (Heinen's has receptacles for plastic bags and styrofoam meat trays at the entrance of the store)
