The Mayfield Village Service Department Phone: (440) 442-5506 The Mayfield Village Service Department provides a wide variety of services including the repair and maintenance of roadways, drainage areas and public properties; assistance to Village departments and organizations. Main and secondary roads are given first priority for plowing and salting to insure emergency accessibility and to ease traffic congestion. Residential streets are plowed as soon thereafter as possible, using generally less salt. Parking is prohibited on all Village streets when snow has accumulated to a depth of two (2) inches. Property owners are responsible for snow and ice removal from sidewalks in front of their property. The Village may clear portions of sidewalks designated as walking routes for school children. Depositing of snow or ice onto any public street or sidewalk is prohibited. Snow must be kept on the property it comes from. Snow from your driveway may not be taken across the street. You may place leaves on your tree lawns for pick-up by the Mayfield Village Service Department each fall. You will receive notification explaining the proper placement of leaves before the pick-up begins. Tool Lending Programavailable to residents We offer a variety of tools, tables and chairs for your use. Please call the Service Department at (440) 442-5506 for more information. Congratulations on your 2005 Trash Oscar!
The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste "BEST ART DIRECTION AND PROMOTION IN A RECYCLING PROGRAM" This Oscar recognizes a community that does an exceptional job of educating its residents about recycling. It's the District's wise opinion that the more people are made aware of recycling opportunities, the more they will participate. This community consistently works to educate residents through its quarterly newsletter called the "Voice of the Village" and its web site. Both newsletter and web site contain tips and reminders about the village's waste collection and recycling program and provide other waste reduction information like how to stop junk mail or recycling computers. This community helps the District spread the recycling message. Overall, this community does a great job of keeping their residents educated and informed so much so that the District staff can't remember the last time we took phone call from a Mayfield Village resident! And the Oscar goes to .... the VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD. Cristie A. Snyder, Program Officer Make it a habit... Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
