2005 Holiday Schedule for Mayfield Village

There will be no trash collection on the following holidays:

~ Memorial Day ~

~ July 4th ~

~ Labor Day ~

Collections for these holidays will be delayed one day as follows:
Monday's collection will be delayed until Tuesday.
Tuesday's collection will be delayed until Wednesday.
Normal collection schedules will resume in the following week.

On all other holidays, trash will be collected on your normal collection day.

Please note the following guidelines regarding Solid Waste:

§      WHAT TO PUT YOUR RUBBISH IN:
     - Containers (35-gallon or smaller) with lift handles weighing no more than 60 pounds
     - Standard trash bags weighing no more than 40 pounds

§      YOU MAY NOT USE:
     
- Cardboard Boxes
     - Drums or Barrels (such as the 55-gallon type)
 

§      WHEN TO PLACE YOUR RUBBISH/RECYCLABLES AT THE CURB:
Rubbish/Recyclable materials are to be placed at the curb no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before your collection day.  Materials must be placed at the curb no later than 6:30 a.m. the day of collection.
 

§      BULK ITEMS
Bulk items (i.e. furniture, appliances, carpeting, fencing, tires, brush and shrub trimmings) will also be picked up on your regular collection day. Just put these items out with your regular rubbish. 
Remember large items such as carpeting, fencing and brush/shrub trimmings must be cut into lengths of 48” or less and tied in bundles of 18” or less; each bundle weighing not more than 60 pounds.
 

§      LEAVES, GRASS CLIPPINGS, DECOMPOSABLE YARD WASTE MATERIAL
Yard waste material including leaves, grass clippings, etc. are accepted.  These items may be placed at the curb with your regular rubbish. 
 

§      RESTRICTIONS
There is no limit to the amount of solid waste per household; however, waste generated by commercial construction or from any other property is NOT PERMITTED.

 

YELLOW RECYCLING BIN:

      New Year’s Day    Memorial Day    Fourth of July    Labor Day    Christmas Day

When a holiday falls on a Monday, the rubbish/recycling normally collected on Monday will be collected on Tuesday; the rubbish/recycling normally collected on Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday.  When a holiday falls on a Tuesday, there is no change for residents on the Monday route. Rubbish/recycling normally collected on Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday.


Please note the following guidelines regarding Recycling:

 

§         RECYCLING BIN - YELLOW
J&J Refuse will deliver a new 18-gallon yellow recycling bin the first week of April.

 

§         COLLECTION OF RECYCLABLES
Recyclables will be picked up the same day your rubbish is collected-- by a separate truck. The materials will be taken to J&J Refuse’s Recycling Center in Canton where they will be prepared for market by full-time employees provided to J&J Refuse through the Stark County MRDD Program.

 

§         WHAT ITEMS MAY BE RECYCLED—PLACE DIRECTLY IN BIN:

                        Plastic Food Containers              Paper Food Containers

            Examples of plastic and paper food containers are cereal and frozen dinner boxes.
 

§      SPECIAL ITEMS
Throughout the year, Mayfield Village participates in the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District’s recycling “round-ups.”  Special items such as paints, pesticides and computers are collected or dropped off by residents for proper recycling or disposal.  Look for notification about the special pick-ups in the Voice of the Village and on the Village marquee (corner of S.O.M. and Wilson Mills Roads).
 

§      MOTOR OIL
Motor oil may be dropped off at the Mayfield Village Service Department during normal business hours.  Please deposit oil in the large red tank at the rear of the building and discard any old oil containers in the dumpster next to the oil tank.
 

§      PLASTIC BAGS & STYROFOAM
Heinen’s at 860 S.O.M. accepts plastic grocery bags and styrofoam (from food trays and egg cartons, etc.)  Please be sure the bags and styrofoam containers are clean.
