WILSON MILLS ROAD CLOSURE
Project Update Information:
2019 ROAD PROGRAM
Closure of Wilson Mills Road for Resurfacing East of SOM Center Road
Chagrin Valley Paving has been approved by Council as the contractor for the 2019 Road Program which includes the resurfacing of Wilson Mills Road, east of SOM Center Road to the Gates Mills line. The total project cost is $1,844,416.00.
Work is expected to begin during the week of May 20. For the 75-day duration of this project, detour signs will be posted and Wilson Mills Road will be closed to through traffic. Local traffic will be maintained for residents living on Wilson Mills Road or on adjacent side streets. Please expect delays if attempting to drive through the work zone and use alternate routes as much as possible.
This project includes the milling of the existing asphalt surface, the addition of paved shoulders where no curbs exist, pavement repairs as needed, softening of the curve between Village Trails and Echo Drive, reshaping roadside ditches, replacing the existing asphalt walk with a 5 ft. concrete walkway and, finally, resurfacing the roadway. Where the Engineer determines that driveway culvert pipes are deteriorated, the pipes will be replaced along with corresponding driveway aprons. Affected residents will be contacted in advance of any driveway apron work.
2019 ROAD MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Resurfacing of a portion of White Road and pavement repair on Highland Road
Chagrin Valley Paving was also the successful bidder for the 2019 Road Maintenance Program, which consists of the resurfacing of White Road (west of North Commons to the Willoughby Hills line) and full-depth pavement repairs at various locations on Highland Road. The cost of this project is $278,519.75.
Chagrin Valley Paving has multiple crews available and this maintenance work is also expected to begin during the week of May 20. The Road Maintenance Program is scheduled to be completed in 30 days. Traffic will be maintained on White and Highland Roads during this project, however, delays should be expected. Residents are encouraged to avoid this area as much as possible.
Crews on both projects will be working Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with Saturday hours as needed. As always, work is weather dependent and delays may occur. Your patience during these road projects is appreciated.
