Thornapple/Robley Septic to Sanitary Sewer Conversion
PROJECT UPDATE - Oct 10, 2018
The new sanitary sewers and water mains have now been installed on both Thornapple Drive and Robley Lane. Both mains have passed required pressure and chlorination tests (except for a small portion of Thornapple currently being tested). Work is beginning on water connections to each property. The connections are expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.
Once all water connections are complete, excavation of the roadways will begin and driveway aprons will be ramped during installation of two layers of asphalt on the roadway. This work will be followed by the installation of new concrete aprons at each property. After the third and final asphalt course is placed on the roadway, site restoration will begin. Final landscaping will be done as weather permits and will be completed in Spring 2019.
Please note that multiple crews will be working on both roadways, with repair of the water main break on Thornapple occurring simultaneously, making it difficult to provide exact timing on each of the remaining construction items. Now that the testing phase is over, work will progress more rapidly and we continue to anticipate that the project will be completed by the end of November.
As always, please remember that work is weather dependent and delays may occur. Thank you for your continued patience.
