Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and the Village Council welcome you to Mayfield Village.

The Mayfield Township Historical Society

The Mayfield Township Historical Society, inspired by the National Bicentennial celebration, was established in September of 1976.  Thirteen charter members met with founder and first president Irene Meden.  Due to the efforts of the Mayfield Township Historical Society, local artifacts and heritage have been preserved.  The Society has a Constitution and Bylaws.  The original Mayfield Township comprised the municipalities now known as Gates Mills, Mayfield Heights, Highland Heights and Mayfield Village.  A portion of Lyndhurst was also part of Mayfield Township.

Members of the Mayfield Village Township Historical Society meet on the second Wednesday monthly, September through May, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Community Room.

Annual Events include the Ice Cream Social and Open House in September, a Turkey Raffle in November, and a Potluck Dinner in December.  A biannual Quilt Show is held in October.

In 1987, the Historical Society purchased the Bennett VanCuren Historical Home and moved the house from Wilson Mills Road to 606 S.O.M. Center Road.  Members of the Society have put in countless hours to restore the home... They interact with the Mayfield City Schools, the Mayfield Village Garden Club and Mayfield Horticulture School...  Museum space is continually expanded...  Log cabin school house display, etc.
