Mayfield Village will accept sealed bid proposals for the:

SOM CENTER ROAD (S.R. 91) & Hickory Hill Drive

This project includes the installation of a new traffic signal including but not limited new vehicular signal heads, decorative mast arms, mast arm foundations, pedestrian signal heads, pedestal foundations, traffic controller unit, cable, underground conduit, etc.

The Engineers estimate for this project is: $230,000.00

Bids will be received at the office of the Clerk of Council of Mayfield Village, located at 6622 Wilson Mills Road, Mayfield Village, Ohio, 44143 until 10:00 (Ten) AM local time on Friday, December 7, 2018 for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the project.

Contract documents, bid sheets, plan and specifications can be obtained from the Mayfield Village website at or a paper copy can be purchased from Stephen Hovancsek & Associates, Inc., Two Merit Drive, Richmond Heights, Ohio (216) 731-6255 at One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per set, non-refundable.  Checks shall be made payable to Stephen Hovancsek & Associates, Inc.

Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code in favor of Mayfield Village.  Bid Security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety the purpose of which shall be to assure that the bidder, if determined to be the lowest and best bidder, enters into a contract with the municipality and that the bid bond so posted is to be paid to the Village as stipulated or liquidated damages in case of failure or refusal to enter into the contract as provided.  The bonds of unsuccessful bidders will be canceled and the checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned.

Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein.  Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity.  The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than July 1, 2019.

All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio Products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project.  Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive Order of 1972, and Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.

Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Cuyahoga County and Mayfield Village, Ohio, as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division, (614) 644-2239.

Each sealed proposal shall be clearly marked on the front of the envelope "Sealed proposal for the:

No bid will be considered unless it is delivered to the office of the Clerk of Council prior to (10:00am), Daylight Savings Time, on FRIDAY, December 7, 2018 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read.

Mayfield Village reserves the right to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder and further reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
