AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
TO FILE AN APPLICATION WITH THE
OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
FOR FUNDING THROUGH THE RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, administers financial assistance for public recreation purposes, through the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) and the Clean Ohio Trails Fund (COTF);
WHEREAS, the Recreational Trails Program provides 80% funding up to $150,000 for purchase/lease of recreational trail construction and maintenance equipment;
WHEREAS, the Village desires to seek financial assistance under the Recreational Trails Program for purchase of trail maintenance equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
SECTION 1. Mayfield Village, by and through its Council, approves filing an application for Recreational Trails Program financial assistance.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to file an application with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and to provide all information and documentation required to become eligible for possible funding assistance.
SECTION 3. The Village does hereby agree to obligate the funds required to satisfactorily complete the proposed project and become eligible for reimbursement under the terms and conditions of the Recreational Trails Program.
SECTION 4. The Mayor and Director of Finance are further authorized to enter into any additional agreements or to sign any additional documentation as may be necessary or appropriate for obtaining the financial assistance requested through the filing of this application.
SECTION 5. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 6. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
