AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL
TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR THE
2013 AFG REGIONAL SCBA GRANT, EMW-2013-FR-00097
WITH THE NORTHFIELD VILLAGE FIRE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Northfield Village Fire Department applied for and received a regional fire grant for the purchase of replacement Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, (“SCBA”); and
WHEREAS, Mayfield Village wishes to be a participant in the Regional Fire Grant and in order to do so must enter into a Memorandum of Understanding; and
WHEREAS, the Village deems in its best interest to enter into the Memorandum of Understanding with the Northfield Village Fire Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and President of Council are hereby and herein authorized and directed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Northfield Village Fire Department, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit “A”.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to the Memorandum of understanding the items to be purchased are as follow:
19 MSA G1 SCBAs: 19 x $5,221= $99,199
11 Additional G1 Masks: 11 x $260= $2,860
2 RIC Setup (MSA): $8,800
PASS System Accountability & Air Management:19 x $285= $5,415
Mayfield Village Total: $116,274 (10% Cost Share= $11,627.40).
SECTION 3. Based upon the items outlined and the cost set forth therein in Section 2 above, the Village’s share for the purchase of the equipment shall be $11,627.40 and the same is hereby authorized.
SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 5. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
