A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO
WHEREAS, on January 20, 2014, Andy Arth, an employee of the Mayfield Village Racquet Club, initiated early advanced care to Greg Mueller, who had collapsed due to a lethal arrhythmia.
WHEREAS, because of the quick response, coupled with the activation of the emergency response system (911), Greg Mueller survived the cardiac event. Andy Arth retrieved the AED, attached it to Mr. Mueller, and delivered a shock within three minutes of the collapse. The AED recognized a lethal arrhythmia and advised to initiate a shock which allowed for Return of Spontaneous Circulation. Working with Dr. Marius Gota, a bystander playing on the court next to the victim, Greg Mueller was alert and oriented by the time the Mayfield Village Fire Department arrived.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
Andy Arth be thanked and commended for his quick actions, which were crucial in the positive outcome of the event.
