A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
JOINING MAYFIELD VILLAGE INTO
THE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP ON AGING
WHEREAS, the Community Partnership on Aging, consisting of the cities of South Euclid, Lyndhurst, Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights, provides senior residents with various essential services such as social work services, administrative services, senior programming and volunteer services; and
WHEREAS, the Council of Governments serves as the governing board of the Community Partnership on Aging; and
WHEREAS, in 2012, the Community Partnership on Aging provided programs and services to Mayfield Village’s Senior Services Department for the benefit of its senior residents; and
WHEREAS, Mayfield Village wishes to continue to provide the aforementioned services to its residents; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting of December 17, 2012, Mayfield Village Council approved the expenditure for the renewal of services for 2013; and
WHEREAS, Mayfield Village wishes to join Lyndhurst, South Euclid, Highland Heights and Mayfield Heights in the Council of Governments as well as in the Community Partnership on Aging.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, joining Mayfield Village in the Council of Governments as well as in the Community Partnership on Aging. Said Agreement is attached as Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
